I was there when System4 was founded. I was making window box carriers and studying
I studied at the faculty Computer Science at Masaryk UniversityUniversitywhile I was has already started working for System4a. His first job was organizing a customer competition for Velux, when technicians were supposed to send barcodes from the window packs to System4. We were sending them back drills and various hobby tools. My job consisted of going to the post office, picking up the packages with the codes and entering them into the computer. The contest had different rounds and prizes were sent out, but by the end of the round there were so many packages that the lady at the window at the post office would call people out of line and give me about fifty packages. I called two taxis and put it in them and then we carried it out to our little offices. One of them was jammed full of parcels. , it didn’t give …not to move. We used to take the foamed codes to Martin Koláček’s garage. The code was made of window boxes, so there was a lot of mortar and waste, it was a very dirty job.
I finally started programming and got the lawyers off Excel
I got my first big assignment, to prepare an agenda for AK Rašovský. At that time, all their records were done via Excel. The guys and I programmed the software, and we ran everything from Excel to the Rašovský transferred to the new app, so I went full-time to System4 and have stayed ever since.
It’s still not boring
To the more stereotypical work I already have juniors at my disposal, I’m only doing the conceptI’m only doing the conceptual work such as innovating application concepts, creating reports a things like that.
I do a lot of reporting in Power BI and focuson Microsoft products like Power Apps and Power Automate and I try to educate myself on that. That’s where I see myself in the future, digging into the data.
I enjoy movies, beer and books
Years I went to summer film school in UHradiště. I don’t have one favourite genre, there are good pieces in every genre. Cordial filmsthat are definitely Sirens cabaret – about mermaids in Warsaw, Dark Star – Spielberg and Lucas filmed it at the collegeyou, it’s a precursor Star Wars and Alien, so it’s fun and mimosaThere’s an inflatable balloon playing. It’s like Alien, but with a balloon instead. Onibaba – from 1964, which is about a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law who, in times of war, have to make a living by hunting down wounded samurai or weakened deserters to kill and then selling their swords and armour.
The only books I read are nonfiction. I enjoy, for example, Tomas Etzler – Journalist in China and then anything by Timothy Snyder.
The best corporate events?
The best corporate event was the one where we were the most embarrassed, where we got kicked out of the pub which has been happening lately. hasn’t been happening lately.but I guess every event is finen. I had a lot of fun when we were at the home of a colleague we call Doctor, shooting a shotgun.
What do I still enjoy about my 20 years at the company?
Atmosphere in the company and the team. The work is still varied and I’m still learning, so I enjoy that and I don’t mind, it would be more interesting elsewhere.
