Smart devices with pre-installed mobile banking access
Česká spořitelna wanted to simplify the use of mobile internet banking for its clients. Therefore, it decided to offer its regular customers – during a special campaign in cooperation with its subsidiary MOPET CZ – Samsung mobile phones at a discounted price with a pre-installed application for access to Česká spořitelna’s mobile internet banking.
Samsung Knox was the perfect choice
The smartphone vendor originally thought it would have to manually unpack each phone, get it working, install the mobile app, and then turn it off and pack it up again. However, Samsung’s official distributor for the Czech Republic pointed him to Samsung Knox technology, which can be used to set up the phone remotely without having to unpack it from the box. As the only implementer of Samsung Knox in the Czech Republic, our company System4u was awarded the contract.
Configure phones remotely with the admin console
How did it work in practice? System4u technicians in cooperation with MOPET CZ deployed the Samsung Knox administration console and trained employees how to use it. Responsible people from MOPET CZ configured the mobile phones that customers ordered as part of the discounted promotion remotely on their computers. An app was installed on the device to access online banking without having to physically carry the phones.
The only condition was that the retailer uploaded the IMEI of the devices sold to the Samsung Knox console. Nothing more is needed, MOPET CZ traced and set up the phone based on the serial number. This solution did not put any demands on the customer – after the first start of the phone and connection to the Internet, the application configured itself within a few minutes and as soon as the Android system started, it was already fully functional.
The system has helped hundreds of customers
Several hundred customers took advantage of the promotion to buy mobile phones at a discounted price. And everyone experienced the convenience of being able to log in to their internet banking and start using it shortly after starting their phone, without any setup.
Moreover, the remote management of the phones by MOPET CZ did not violate their privacy in any way. “In the Samsung Knox console, admins can only install the mobile banking app on their phones, nothing else. Users’ privacy is thus fully protected, and they can uninstall the application at any time if they wish,” says Petra Holubcová, marketing manager at System4.
